After a year of unfinished business, the College of Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences (CFAS) Anglers danced their way back to the top, reclaiming the hip-hop championship they lost under dispute last year, this time with a powerful message against corruption.

Finishing as 5th runner-up in last year’s widely debated result, the Anglers stormed back with a performance that combined fierce choreography, thematic storytelling, and unrelenting drive.
Their ‘anti-corruption’ routine, described by team member and fourth-year BS Marine Biology student VJ Alejandro as both timely and meaningful, thus mirrored their determination to win clean and prove their worth.
“Overwhelming kaayo, na lami kaayo sa paminaw na nakuha na pod namo balik ang champion….among giisip na inspirasyon kay ang mabawi namo ang mga dapat kuhaon namo tung last year,” Alejandro recalled.
He further explained that the team’s choice of a corruption theme was inspired by current national issues.
“Init karon ang issue sa Pilipinas about korapsyon mga issue. So that among naisip kay amoa nang ipaglaban na pud, kasabay sa pag-rally nila, pinaagi sa among sayaw,” the Marine Biology student said.
The Anglers’ performance underscored a broader message that redemption is best earned through discipline, artistry, and purpose.
Following the Anglers were the College of Education (COeD) Legendary Mentors as first runner-up, College of Business Administration and Accountancy (CBAA) Tycoons in second, and College of Engineering (COE) Asteegs placing third.
Meanwhile, placing fourth to sixth runners-up were College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics (CNSM) Wizards, College of Social Sciences and Humanities (CSSH) Vanguards, and College of Agriculture (COA) Reapers.
For the newly crowned champions, the triumph was more than just a trophy for them, it was vindication.
“Paningkamot lang, strive hard lang sa gustong abuton,” Alejandro ended.
