Defending their crown with consistency and precision, the College of Engineering (COE) ASTEEGS clinched their second consecutive championship in the Collaborative Desktop Publishing (CDP) competition held on October 15 at the University Gymnasium during this year’s Intramurals Literary Night.
Composed of Blueprint journalists Kyle Jeoffer Victorio (Editorial), Prince Zyrus Laudato (Sports), Jay Chris Oteda (Cartoonist), Kristine Abegail Layout (Layout), Katriel Abegail Sumugat (Feature), John Roland Dimput (Photo), and Arjelyn Acain (News), the ASTEEGS swept all five major categories, marking a complete domination of the contest.

COE bagged the Best in News Page, Best in Editorial Page, Best in Feature Page, Best in Sports Page, and Best in Layout awards, securing the championship over CSSH (1st runner-up), CNSM (2nd runner-up), COA (3rd runner-up), COEd (4th runner-up), CFAS (5th runner-up), and CBAA (6th runner-up).
Sharing his thoughts after their back-to-back win, Editorial Writer Kyle Jeoffer Victorio said the victory felt fulfilling, especially after falling short of one category in the previous year.
“Satisfying kaayo sya sa feeling kay last year man gud kay murag syag thorn sa among pagkadaog kay wala namo nakuha ang Best News Page. Karon nag-intensify gid mi sa among training,” Victorio said.
He explained that their preparation centered on improving speed and teamwork through simulated practice sessions before the competition.
“Actually sa contest na mi naka-simulate gid og three hours pero gibuhat nako ato is gihone nako ang speed sa akong writers. Sa kapaspas nila magsulat and ang ilang content,” he added.
Victorio also shared that the team’s focus and coordination led to a smooth production process during the event.
“Thank God gid kaayo na-work out ra sya. Nahuman namo among output. No regrets within sa oras and wala mi nag-extend sa time, nagkarara, very smooth ra gid kaayo all throughout the process,” he said.
The ASTEEGS’ 2-peat win reaffirmed their dominance in the CDP event, further solidifying their reputation as one of the most competitive and consistent publication teams in the university.
