Teaching children about marine life, 19-year-old Monnahleah Mae Inamarga of the College of Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences (CFAS) clinched the top spot in the advocacy presentation held during the Miss MSU 2025 coronation night at the University Gymnasium, October 11.
Inamarga emphasized that her project uses creative and artistic approaches to show kids the richness of marine biodiversity and its vital role in human survival.
“I will be teaching them or I’ll be giving them information, giving them learning in a creative way, in an artistic way where I am passionate about. So, I’ll be telling them how rich the marine biodiversity life is and how important it is for us to protect them, to know the things about them because our life is based on the sea because if there is no life in the sea, we will drown," she explained.
Moreover, she plans to implement her advocacy with the help of the judges’ suggestions during the advocacy presentation last October 5.
Through her workbook, ‘Gabay sa Saribuhay’, Inamarga also goals to register and copyright the material, raise funds, and coordinate with organizations sharing her conservation goals.
“They want to push this advocacy because they care with nature, they care with the future that we have,” the 2nd year Marine Biology student stated.
Inamarga emphasized that the advocacy aims to inspire children to protect life below water, highlighting the importance of educating the next generation about ocean stewardship.
