Splashing into the finale, the Mindanao State University – General Santos City (MSU-GSC) concluded its week-long Intramurals with a Songkran-themed Students’ Night 2025, transforming the university quadrangle into a lively splash zone of music, dance, and color, October 16.
To culminate a week of events, the Supreme Student Council (SSC) organized the celebration as the official closing program of the Intramurals, highlighting the students’ athletic victories along with the school’s creativity, unity, and spirit.
Adding to the excitement, the night was hosted by James Catapang and Eden Ganaganag and featured the highly anticipated Foam Party led by guest performer Pey Filipinas, who brought the crowd to their feet with upbeat performances and energetic stage presence.
‘Preparations begin late’
SSC President Ramzel Delloro shared that the council only started preparing for the Students’ Night two days before the event because of other commitments like Miss MSU and the mass dance.
“Actually, two days ago lang kami nakapagsimula ng preparations kasi may Miss MSU pa at mass dance na hinawakan namin,” Delloro said, adding that the SLCA Committee, led by Hon. Kyle Inocelda, managed to make the event lively and successful.
Limited budget concerns
She mentioned that the main challenge they faced was the limited budget allocation for the event.
“I think sa budgetary concerns talaga, napakaliit lang na na-allocate but thankfully na pull off talaga na may quality ang event,” Delloro stated.
Message for fellow students
Delloro encouraged the students to enjoy and cherish the celebration as a once-in-a-college-life experience.
“This is your night. Minsan lang ’to sa college life niyo, kaya enjoy it while it lasts,” she said.
She explained that this year’s Songkran theme was inspired by Thailand’s famous festival and served as a continuation of the previous Bollywood-themed mass dance.
“I think parang finale siya nung sa mass dance theme na Indian Bollywood, ngayon naman Songkran sa Thailand,” Delloro explained, noting that many students joined in by wearing Thai-inspired outfits.
